Visit Us

We encourage you to visit our unique Early Years Centre, and experience the joy and energy of our youngest students. With our reception children upstairs, Knell House is a vibrant, happy and delightful environment in which your daughter will take her first educational steps.

Together with a detailed chat with our admissions team, you will be accompanied on your tour by our Nursery Manager who will answer any questions you may have.

Admissions process

We offer a pre-reception nursery school year, for 3-4 year olds, based on a full-time Monday to Friday offering. Nursery children usually join in the September after their third birthday but there is flexibility to accept applications during the school year if places are available.

My daughter has never been so happy. She can't wait to get to Nursery each morning.

EY Funding

Children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to access 15 hours of EYFE a week for up to 38 weeks of the year. Your child qualifies for this from the academic term following their third birthday until the end of the term of your child’s fifth birthday.

The EYFE at The Abbey is offered between the hours of 12.30 – 15.30 within a package of in-school education, subject to availability. This is offered over the full school week, Monday to Friday inclusive, over our academic year of 34 weeks.

The EYFE is shown on termly fee invoices. Any additional optional services (e.g. After School Care) are charged in addition and are invoiced separately.

A strong curriculum focus wrapped around happiness and play

Fees

Tuition fees for the academic year beginning September 2022 are listed below. Fees are inclusive of school lunches, text books, classroom materials and personal accident insurance. At Little Knellies all curricular extras and trips are included in the fee.

All fees are payable in advance on or before the first day of each term. Fees must be paid by direct debit.

£3,845 per term

I love the fact my daughter attends the only all-girls' nursery in Berkshire!

Settling in days

We encourage all families to enjoy our Stay and Play programme: this is an ideal opportunity to make an initial connection for your daughters. Until they join us, children continue to attend these sessions to build familiarity with staff, our setting and our ethos.

We have designated dates for special new starter events just before your daughter begins with us. As children join us throughout the year, we can offer an individualised approach to building her confidence before her first day.

All families benefit from a 1:1 Induction meeting in which we aim to find out as much as we can about each other before starting your exciting new journey with us!
